Default stock muffler question

Im new to harley's and have a 2007 dyna superglide. how can i modify the stock exhaust to sound better. My bike is stock so it still has the factory setting on the EFI. If I modify the stock mufflers will it run worse or lean?

A friend of mine ran into a set that had the centers punched out, I put them on my 07 lowrider and the sound was "improved". Weeks later I ran my lowrider to Lubbock and the dyno showed a just a perfect picture. Best of luck.

Thanx Iv heard of people doing this and they liked the sound.I wouldnt think just punching a hole would throw off the mixture that much...

Here is a response I got from Big City Thunder and their baffles. I was looking for something for the SE slip-ons (not the SE II's). Here's what they say about stock:

Thanks for the inquiry on Big City Thunder Products.
We do not have a product that replaces your muffler
baffle. We do have a product that you would install
at the exit end of the head pipe where the muffler
slips on. In this application you would need to modify
the stock muffler to a straight thru type design.

One more time.

Chuck a 1 1/4" hole saw in your drill. Use an extention.
(this is the size that fits in the hole at the open end of the muffler)
Insert into end of muffler. Drill (cut) hole in plate.
Repeat. Start bike and blow slugs at buddy.

I did this at 920 miles on 2007FXD. NO notes from mechanic at 1000 mile service. Now have over 2000 miles. Sounds great, no problems. I now believe it wasdesigned to be that easy to do.

To those who can't use the search function, yes, for the umpteenth time, you can modify your exhaust with the factory setting.

I'm getting grumpy.
