How would you, clone or update a Street Bob or Low Rider twin cam into a modernized FXDX?
l've seen something like what you're asking, this is pretty much how he went about it.
You'll need to start with an FXD if you want the speedo on the risers., the one l've seen is based on an 09
VRSCR wheels, even new they're pretty reasonably priced, some machining and an FXDF right for leg for a calliper mount to give you a twin disc setup. Alternatively, VRSCR or carbon fibre wheels with a Corsair inverted front end conversion if you want better brakes and suspension adjustability. That's something the owner is considering btw.
An FXDB engine and transmission and some powder coating for the black stuff.
Take your pick for rear suspension, just make it at least 13 inches.
My FXDLS handles pretty well, even compared to my dads built ‘01 Super Glide with ODC suspension front and back. My brothers FXR with a 111” S&S and Baker 6 speed make both of the Dynas look stupid when it comes to handling.
