Default 1996 wide glide carborator /tuneing

Hello finally got my 96 wide glide back togeather with the shorts vance and hines and a arlinness ac I got a new carb in the it with I belive 180 main and pilot is 45 my problem is it starts right up and will idle for a few mins. But then it will start to sneeze every few seconds almost die and keep idling . Now I dont have air cleaner on this is prob the main cause but could it be anything elts. ? That I should be looking for . Were is a good start point for idle screw and mixture screw.thanks guys

Get a dyno-jet kit for your bike/carb, and follow the directions to the letter.

Would not having air filter on at the moment play a part in this too much air going in?

I do know what your saying but I dont think it has to do with jets new carb and new jets and if their too big or small I have difrent sizes just trying to get a idea of what everyone thinks this might be before I RIP the carb apart agin.

Lean running. Check the carb/manifold boot. They wear flat in spots and leak, they're cheap enuf, just replace it if it's old. Check your vacuum lines. and or cap on the intake/carb vacuum nipples.
Check the manifold/head o-rings. Check the diaphragm in the top of the carb.
