The dealer did suggest the Low Rider tank as an option as well. I have to admit that they are giving me some great options and ideas as you all are too. Decisions, decisions....it's going to be a long winter.

The Street Bob tank is the low rider tank, same tank, no difference do not let a dealer sell you another tank.

You can mount the Low Rider console right on the street bob tank.

Have done the very project with my '04. The Accutronix gauge mount actually looks very good and can be moved anywhere along the risers on a set of T-bars. It is the perfect winter layup project. Labor at the dealer- 8 hrs. may be a little high, my recommendation do it yourself and save a ton of cash. Running the wiring inside the bars and changing the black switch covers out is not very time consuming, not very difficult and you can do it on your timetable, not the dealer's. Best of all, you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

Going the Low Rider route is REAL expensive, new painted tank,(can you say Cha Ching?) new console, new instruments, etc. If that is the look you're looking for, better off just buying an FXDL, IMO.

DGlide,

Are those the Ness Swayback bars? Your bike looks great and that the look I'm going for. Thanks for your input!

I replaced my bars with 1-1/4" dia. 9" pull back drag bars. I bought (2) 1-1/4" chrome cable clamps as the mounting brackets for the stock gauge set up. A lot less expensive then $120. If you need a pic let me know.

Kicks, the bars are Wild 1 Chubby WO 560's. The stock length cables will work, but I wound up having them changed out to braided just for the looks. I also did the HD chromed switch covers at the same time. Plan on installing chromed hand levers and clutch/brake clamps to complete the chroming of the handle bars.

If you have any more questions, let me know. Best advice is to take your time and you can do it yourself.

Thanks for all the info and encouragement.....But I know my limitations! I'll let the dealer do it, but I'll be working him on the hours. Probably call around to a couple other dealers just to see what they would figure.
