Go with the Dakota Digital Gauages. I got 'em on my FXDX and they are friggin' awesome!
I was gonna do this until I put the mirrors, risers, and drag bar on. Those speedos run you around $300 - $400 versus about $200 for my fix, which you could probably get cheaper if you bought some of the stuff off ebay.
Great looking set up! That is a great option to consider. I really like the bars on the cvo dyna though and wonder if a speedo can be placed where the cvo has it's tach.?. They are simular to regular drag bars but kind of pull back like a V.

Thanks! Seriously, email me if you want more pictures or further details. Trust me, I struggled with this for 5-friggin years! I hated my speedo the way it looked. I was ready to buy a digital, but they are very expensive. The risers cost me $75 off JP Cycles, the bars about $20 off eBay, the mirrors are HD and cost me $85. I could have probably gotten cheaper mirrors and risors had I gone to eBay. I also put the chrome housing on the speedo, which you can get from Harley for about $90, depending on your year. But the wrinkle black will still look OK with the set-up as I have seen it before. As I said, I hated the way the front of my bike look because of the obnoxious speedo, and I think a tach would make it twice as worse, and no offense, who needs one, anyway? You have to learn to listen to your bike to guage how it is revving/when to shift.
Yeah, HD alwayse seems to change/add something that everyone does with the model year before!!
Throw drag bars on that thing. You can get 24 inchers off eBay for about $20 plus shipping. They'd look sweet on there and they are easy to put on by yourself....

Funny you should say that, I want even lower bars then the low-riders that I have on there now. I'll have to relocate the turn signals as they are within a 1/4 " now. The stock buckhorns were ridicules.
The low riders are 31", I think 24 to 28" would be perfect.
Those are cool. How much would those run me? I like how they are minimized in the scheme of things. Those gauges along with 02fxdcustoms's drag bar/ mirror set up would be hot!
Not sure of the cost, but they are in the HD catalog. The price went way down from the 06 catalog to the 07 catalog. Almost 100 less for each piece I think.Get them on one of the 20 percent off dealers and you are on your way. I felt the same as you till I had to do something. "Cyclops look" istheright on description. I like to look over the bars and not have something staring back at me. The bars came from Dennis Kirk. Good luck. PS what is the name about? Is it a scalping reference?
