So ive been wanting to get a JD Fab t sport fairing but theyre just so Damn expensive. Ive been thinking of going cheap and getting the Amazon knock off. There are two options, the one by the krator and the one by tcmt. They both look exactly the same and theyre the same price but the tcmt one comes in matte black and the krator one only comes in gloss. My bike is denim black. The only (petty) problem is that the krator one has 5 star reviews and the tcmt one has a 1 star review and I'm afraid to pull the trigger on this 90 dollar piece of crap lol. What should i doooo.
If I get it I will gwt the jd fab extension block and will also try to fit the jd fab anti buffeting kit on the windshield too. What do y'all ghibk?

I can only speak on the Krator T Sport fairing: As for star rating, it's probably a 2 to 3 right off the shelf with the factory supplied hardware, and a 3-4 after swapping out the factory hardware. It's somewhat of a pain in the **** to get it to appear comparable fit/finish wise to the real-deal-fairings, but once done its pretty nice compared to something like a National Cycle bug screen (what was previously on my bike; failed to block wind/bugs/water). If I had a brand new bike you bet your **** I'd be putting a Memphis or JDCustoms fairing on it - but alas - it's an inexpensive '08 FXD.
Regarding color: Personal preference. You're on your own with that one.
If cumulative cost is a concern you could opt for the Altered Industries headlight relocation block - it's about half the cost of the JD Customs block. But, be prepared to sink another $20 on nuts, washers, and grommets if going the Krator route as the supplied hardware is kind of crappy. Additionally, there was no need for any form of "anti-buffeting" kit for my installation so that saved a bit more coin.
There's another reseller, XMT, that is selling the fairing as well. I bought the XMT because they had the matte but my guess is they are all by the same China manufacturer which is why none come with instructions. I'd also suggest the Altered Industries headlight block on EBay, but I did end up replacing the windshield with a Rifle as the original didn't have good visibility. It may not be a concern if you get the smoked though. The Rifle doesn't fit great but I hear the JD Customs replacement windshields fit well if you feel you want to replace it. I also didn't like the recurve in the original though.
Thanks for the replys. A 90 dollar fairing is worth trying compared to a 600 dollar jd fab. Where could I pick up better hardware for it?
The supplied angular metal brackets are of decent quality, however, you'll want to replace all of the rubber components, and add in a few nyloc nuts and washers. Any big box store like lowe's or home depot should have what you're looking for.
