If you don't strip out one of the cheap-*** factory bolts when removing the old cover, it'll be easy as 123. Use the exact torx bit size specified earlier in this post, seat the tip in real good and carefully ease the old bolts out.
Forget about leveling the bike - if you spill any oil out, your case is too full - the tech manuals specifiy that the level should be at the very edge of the bottom of the derby cover lip when full and on the jiffy stand.
As far as changing the fluid - okay i agree there, but I wouldn't arbitrarily adjust the clutch unless your clutchslips or you find shifting to be a bit rough up or down.
just did mine, had a personalized derby cover. had to get an older gasket as the 07 have an o ring built into the cover. my 05 derby cover off the deuce mated perfectly to the primary with the old "paper" gasket. no leaks, no worries!
Where did you get your custom derby cover? I had a card form a guy I saw during Rolling Thunder at Thunder Alley but dang it I cannot find his card now. He had a great selection of military themed covers.
LMAO....Which cover was that one..The Skull one?.My SERT didn't show up either. They sent me the tracking number and it said that it was going to Colorado. [:@]
Well ya got Dulles or National or BWI that are close... Dont ya love a smart a$$ ....Robert & I put mine on the new DynaJet today man the new dyno is Very easy to use. worth the big bucks. ( compared to the old machine ) When ya get it (your sert)we'll run over and set it up....
I spent two hours at Dulles waiting for a friend to go through customs, I ain't going out there again. We then got stuck on 95 during the storms, had a tree across the road.
