It's an easy install Greg. Just be sure you have the required gasket to install in place of the old one. And while you've got the cover off you might as well do a clutch adjustment and maybe change out the fluid in the primary. See how much fun this is! Doing upgrades can motivate one to accomplish other things at the same time. Have fun!

Easy job, you'll need a T-27 torx. Tighten the screws in a star pattern
Torque spec is 84-108 inch lbs.If you don't have a torque wrench just snug them up, they don't have to be real tight.

I was surprised to see the new gasket (frisbee style) is different than the stock O-ring style. Hope you ordered the right new one.

I put my bike on a level suface and put the kick stand on a 2x4 and not a drop leaked out. My Sears 3/8 socket Torx bit broke at about 70 lb-in (using a torque wrench) so I just ended us snugging them up with a hand Torx wrench.

Need to order a set of tempered Snap-On Torx bits. Why the frick do they use those instead of Allen bolts?

Put some 2x4s under your side stand or put it on a lift before doing this mod. Otherwise you'll likely end up with a puddle of oil. Otherwise, it's a pretty simple mod. Do read the installation directions, as there are some specific ones about which hole in the gasket goes where, etc.

A good quality #27 Torx bit is a must unless you want to strip them out. A little anti-seize compound on each one when you reinstall the screws will help the next time you have to take the derby off.

get rid of those phony torx bolts. get some chrome allen head ones from Ace Hardware. no more stipping, and they are a hell of a lot easier to get off next time.
