Was going to replace the rear brake fluid on a 2008 Street Bob. Getting to the master cylinder cover seems like a pain. I did not look too hard as I still had allot of other things to do to finish my bike, but will want to swap out the brake fluid soon. Should have done it when I was putting on the Sputhe stabilizer as I had the exhaust bracket support off, but I was not thinking about that then...
I did it last fall on my Low Rider and it wasn't that hard, just tedious. I was concerned about spilling fluid, and letting dirt fall in the reservoir. Of course, the brake fluid dissolved paint on the cover...
An aside: I had to loosen the fitting on the master 3-4 full turns to move the brake line for my Sputhe install. To my surprise, the brake doesn't appear to need bleeding.

I did not have to move the brake line for my sputh install, but did have to remove the exhaust. Should have bled the brake then. Dooh!!!!!
I did not have to move the brake line for my sputh install,
The brake light switch was in exactly the wrong position. There's a notch in the frame that cradles the line, so I had to loosen the banjo fitting enough to rock the line 1/4" aft to clear the notch, then rotate it about 40 degrees outboard. Here's a photo I stole from another member (Thanks! whoever you were...) that helped me when I did mine. No fluid leaked out, and the pedal is still firm, so, apparently, no air got it.
Here's what I've done to make the job a little easier. Buy some little plastic squirt bottles with the pointed nozzle tops, clear plastic tubing. Using this bottle with the tubing attached you can get up close and personal with the reservoir, and not spill the fluid all over.
