I'm in the same situation, have a Beemer but want to get into a cruiser (I think I need to change to that riding position). Drove a Street Bob with mids, I liked it, but I agree, the Fat Bob seems like it would be a better bike for me. I like everything about it, even the things others don't like. The dual front brakes are a big plus, also you get the dual seat and rear pegs you need to take care of on the Street Bob. But even things like the dual lights, pipes, and bobbed rear fender, I like all that more than the Street Bob. BUT if the road test on the Bob isn't good, I would go to the Street Bob. MIGHT need to do something else with the bars on the Fat Bob. Not sure on front or mid control, hoping the demo I get to ride (some day) has front control.

There's a Crimson Denim Fat Bob sitting in my garage. It's 8 days old. Had a 2006 Dyna Custom I traded. Loved the former...Love the new one. The Fat Bob has a completely different ride and feel to it. If you haven't put your butt on one and put some miles behind you, don't knock the ride. As for the looks...I like it. But that's just my opinion...and you know whay they say about opinions...

I absolutly love it, but I have one so what ya spect? 3 weeks old, 1700 miles into it and its running better every time I take it out. IMO-Pipes, need to at least change the slip ons, but they do have some personality-Tires-Fantastic, great ride, rain groves, cant feel em hardly much less tossing ya around on the road, wind n rain, stable as a rock-cornering, getting better every day, faty will lean over good and hold the road once you get used to it-A/C, got a change it-reflector and badges crap had to go, PCIII to be added soon. Head light- yeah looks like a trumpet, I dont care, both lights work on low and high beam, lots of light, and my old eyes need that at night. having worked for a chrome shop while I had my last and going heavy on the chrome, I intend to go mostly black on thisn, back shocks have a nice easy to adjust 5 way setting that works good, they wont stay chrome on mine too long/
Conversation I had the other day, they are ALL good, there HD, some just fit better on diferent folks, Ill be riding the poop out of mine for a while.

Wow....Bunch of haters..lol...I guess I am prejudice since I own one. Rides and handles great. I guess that goes back to the ole saying "To each their own". That is one reason I own a HD.

Just bought the Fat Bob and love it, plenty of power and a kick to ride. Anyone have any suggestion on tool to buy just for working on the Fat Bob. Sears snap on etc.

by a shop manual porboy, read each section BEFORE you begin working, and you may cut your trips to Autozone for tools down to 1-3 per project. Good luck!
