Default Forwards controls placement questions

Is there an easy way to move the controls including the shifter and brake on the Wide Glide outward? I would like to get my legs off of the tank. My pant legs are putting some rub marks on the tank.

The biggest problem would be keeping the shift and brake linkages pushing / pulling in a straight line. It wouldn't take much to shim out the brackets themselves, but you'd wanna shim the shift rod back in by the same amount to keep it in line with the direction of pull / push. If you're only going a 1/4" you could probably not worry about shimming the shift rod. I suppose you could also run into a problem with the right side bracket and the exhaust too.

You could use the 6" extended pegs instead of the 4"ers and just turn your toes in to shift and brake.

I just installed the Kuryakyn offset peg extensions. They were a little awkward at first, but got used to them after a couple rides. Now I love them. Click on the attachment below and there is a poor picture, but may be good enough to see them.

My dad has a Yamaha Road Star and he installed one of those hyper chargers and it was right in the way of his knee, so we made some 2" spacers and got some longer bolts and moved his forward controls out 2" with no problem...I think the shifter spline on his Jardine forward controls had a swivel fitting on it though so we didn't have to move anything out on the tranny side. Anyway, the hyper charger was still in they way so we just put his floor boards back on...but other than that the forwards worked fine moved out like that.

Here's some better pics of the Kuryakyn offsets.

Thanx for the pics. I would rather move the complete set out instead of just the pegs. It would make it easier to reach the shifter and brake.
