Default Stator self destruct 06/07 Dynas

Don't know if this is going to become a general issue but for these models apparently the design of the stator was changed.

I recently had a major breakdown on my 06 Street Bob.
When the dealer got the bike it was found the stator had been totally destroyed because the 4 bolts holding the stator had come undone.
YOU READ THAT RIGHT!
"COME UNDONE"
This is not the first Dyna to have done this that they know of (mine went at 6600 another went at 7000 about 3 days after mine).
The stator is now welded on newer models (mine has been replaced with this) so if you own a 06/07 Dyna have the stator checked at service time!

Same thing happened to mine. Bolts came loose and all hell broke loose with that stator flying around in there. They assured me the new bolts won't do that....Just sumpin to look forward to if it has'nt happened to you yet....Happened at about 17K miles...

Well, mine went south yesterday.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Far away frome home. Lended a battery from a fellow biker and brought&nbsp\\;the bike home.
Stator/ohm check at the stator pins shows all 3 phases to ground.

Pulled the primary chaincase cover today.
The primary is full with pieces of the stator.
&nbsp\\;
Roots cause. The rotor is bolted with 8 tiny screws to a splined basket on the flywheel crank.
All 8 screws were lose and attached to the magnet and they have been bangning the **** out of the stator.
&nbsp\\;
I couldn´t&nbsp\\;believe my eyes when I saw that the rotor is&nbsp\\;in two bolted pieces. It should be a one piece item...
&nbsp\\;
I would recommend everyone to pull the primary cover when changing primary fluid to check that the rotor has not come lose from the splined basket.
&nbsp\\;
IMO this is a ticking bomb inside every 06 Dyna +..

Mine went at around 8500 miles, check to see if the crank is out of true now because thats when the left main bearing started howling in my 06. Ended up having to rebuild the whole lower end at 15000 due to flywheel shift...
