Default Question with adding security/deleting ignition

Well I keep having issues with my 14 FXDL ignition. The bracket broke on the way home from bike week. This makes time #6 I've had an igniton related issue. I was going to swap the bracket but some asshat at the dealer jbwelded ignition and bracket together and a different dealer couldn't get it apart without ruining igniton in the process. To answer your question I have had multiple dealers multiple times replacing ignition components so I can't pin that crummy work on one in particular.

Anyways I'm looking at having to replace my igniton/housing/bracket now to repair. I was talking with the tech at my local dealer and he said if I added harley system to the bike he could program the bcm for the bike to be keyless. Meaning I could do away with my igniton altogether and the run switch would also power on the bike. Does this sound accurate? I figured I had to have an igniton to turn bike power on but he says no he can program the run switch to do that. I just dont want to spend the 350 for the security if I dont have to. Thanks in advance!

Yes the switch, sorry I was a little vague. The actual part you put your key in to unlock and then turn for power to come on.

Yes the factory system allows the switch to remain locked then just use FOB and power / start switches

I bought mine on ebay for $200.00...installed myself ( plug and play) then had dealer marry it to the ECM 1/2 hr $45.00 + $10.00 to pickup and deliver to dealer. It literally takes them 5 minutes. Just be sure they program it correctly so your brake lights and turn signals work correctly. As k me how I know!
