Default Replace Ignition with 2 position toggle switch

Hello,

I have an idea that might not actually work but I wanted to see if we could get a conversation about the possibilities of this working. I have a 2013 XL1200X and I've been doing quite a lot of modifications to it. I want to completely get rid of my ignition and replace it with a 2 position toggle switch. the bike can't start without the FOB present, and I would hide the switch to a place that is completely not visible. I was wondering if this is a feasible idea or if there are too many obstacles to maneuver around that it would just not be worth it.

Thanks

No, thats doable and easy.

I actually had a toggle switch mounted to the side of my oil tank neat the swingarm, BUT it broke off while riding so I wired together and havent looked back.

I completely wired them together so that when I turn my key fob, the FI goes on with the key. I converted it to a 2 step bike start process to a simple turn the fob and start.

Keep in mind that doing this means that the fuel pump will always have power when you turn the key on.

You must also keep track of all the mods you are doing if they include rewiring as troubleshooting down the road can be more difficult, dont ask how I know.

good luck.

Pictures are always loved around here.
