Makes sense; if you create a low pressure area behind the windshield, there will be turbulence when air tries to flow into that area. The vents allow air in thru the openings...would probably be nice on hot days, too.
I just replaced my re-curve with a Memphis Shades; will be installing the snap vents soon. It's a relatively tedious and very fussy job. I'll get a picture of her windshield later...
Would love to see the process of cutting and installing those vents. Might be something I'd like to try, since I'm in the desert. What are you doing with your recurve? I've always heard that the re-curves help with the wind on your head.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure, and I knew that some of the earlier/other models had 39mm or 41mm forks, plus I didn't want to assume (you know what they say about when you assume...).

Mine is a 2003 with the 41mm forks, they changed it 2006, I believe.

The used re-curve is gonna hang from the rafters; lotsa travel stickers on it...many memories. I don't think the re-curve is necessarily the only answer; I actually believe there's more turbulence but higher up above your helmet...hopefully. I'll document the vent install and do a separate thread in the Dyna section.

Alright. I'd need for 49mm forks. Thanks, anyway, unless you want to give me a great price, so I can get new fork clamps that fit mine...

Understood about the re-curve, keeping for memories.
Looking forward to seeing the vent install process thread. Thanks.
