Default Engine swap

I have an 06 street bob fxdbi fuel injection 88ci. I have a buddy with a 09 110 cvo. I can get it cheap. Will it mount up to my frame and primary and trans.? If not what do I need to do? Also would it be better to take my 88 to a 96 or 103? Thank you for your advice. Much appreciated!!

Welcome, and yes it will bolt in as long as the motor came from a touring or Dyna. Softail models use the "B" series engines, and they aren't compatible with your frame.

Yes it's off a touring bike. So I should be good! Thank you.

An 07 and later Twin Cam engine will NOT BOLT UP TO 06 TRANS. Get a Big Bore Kit and save a hell of a lot of misery for yourself.

Twin Cam Touring WILL NOT fit in a Dyna. Dyna engine case put the cylinders vertical while touring engine cases tilt the cylinders forward. Engine below the cylinders is different.

3 different sets of engine cases, ...that is why Harley dropped the Dyna line...but it has to be out of a dyna, and better if you can get the transmission with it...some yrs don’t fit each other...

Yes, the '07 and up touring bikes use the same cases as the '06 and up Dyna. '06 was the first year for the 6 speed trans in the Dyna, and the FLH's got it in '07. The engine that I'm running in my '06 Dyna was pulled from my '09 FLHTCU. You will have to use your old cable operated throttle body, but as I said, the engine will bolt in just fine.
