ATT: Tall Dyna Riders
This is the scooter that’s gonna carry me to 80th Sturgis next yr. on a 5000 mi. “bucket list” tour so I’d like to have it right. Thnx in advance.
PS: I know the pic says FXD but the d*** CP won't let me change it.
What part of body hurts when you ride?
For comfort on long rides you need to be able to change your foot position and move around in your seat (changing your *** position)
I've been had success with Mustang widetripper and more recently the corbin hollywood.
But the OEM fatty seat has also done me well on 900km days.
as we are all different, no firm rules apply, but its all a variation of the same theme
for me on my WG
i put HD 12" apes on, which helped, but i feel i want another 2" rise, and the hand controls less raked, so looking at the RSD vintage 16" ape
i put a custom built Corbyn seat on, which moves me 1" up and 1" back. i would like to go back down 1" or more, but not sure how this goes with the rear fender.
also, the seat became unusable, until i put the backrest on, and now its back comfy
i put kuryakyn extended forward controls. the quality isnt great, but they open the knee angle beyond 90 degrees which for me with one crocked knee, massively improves comfort. i want to re-engineer them this winter, to drop the pegs down 1"
the problem is, is that you really dont know if something really works for your body, until you have done the miles. what might feel comfortable on a one 2 hour ride, might not be on the third 2 hour leg of the day. and you only need to put on a stone of timber around the midriff, for your seat muscles to react differently.
oh and if you are going to piles the day miles on, get a windscreen. they look naff, but not a naff as how your arms feel as your large upper torso has weather vaned thru the day
good luck

But I doubt adding rake will not make you any more comfy though.

You could put custom extended forward controls and your feet ain't going to be resting on the front axle.
