2007 Dyna vibration
My '07 Dyna has vibration that I cant get rid of. I replaced primary chain, clutch sprocket and front sprocket was replaced with Twin Power compensator eliminator sprocket. I replaced both front and rear engine isolator mounts. Belt drive is not too tight and primary chain I adjusted after new replacement and set it both times to high limit of 7/8" inch and checked it in 3 spots. Swingarm and steering head bearings are all tight with no movement. Top stabilizser engine mount seems to be fine and tight. what else could make this vibration that wasnt there before?
Very common. Most likely the crank bearings. Harleys have weak cranks. Yer lookin at about 3 grand for a new crank assy and even then it will probably still vibrate like a wood chipper. Been there, done that.
I put a manual chain tensioner , to replace the stock automatic tensioner , then i started getting a vibration that worsened. i took primary cover off and discovered
clutch bearing was wasted , but i installed the manual tensioner to 7/8 of an inch, so i know it wasn't too tight ., so i replaced clutch basket w/ sprocket , new chain , new bearings on the inner primary and clutch basket and changed front compensator sprocket w/ out the compensator. clutch plates were fine so i reused them . when i got it all back together and rode it , it still had a vibration , so i replaced front and rear isolater mounts , still has vibration it never had before . tried loosening the mounts and idling engine for 15 seconds and re-tightened after shutting it off plus already did a spacer on the front mount so there is no pre-load . final drive belt is at proper tension , bike has 21.000 miles. only thing i need to do is have shop do engine alignment etc . front sprocket w/out compensator is about 1.5 lbs lighter , the vibration is in the foot pegs and seems worse at low speeds and improves with greater speed , after 40 mph and faster it's not really noticeable . will a lighter sprocket do this to the engine ?

Did the vibrations show up after you removed the compensator? That might be the weight the engine needs on the left side to even out the engine pulses.

Really..your 45 degree v-twin engine vibrates? Who would of thunk it.....
seriously though, they all vibrate to some degree, how much and what could be deemed excessive is very subjective. And no it more then likely is not your flywheels....
excessive vibration can be caused by any number of things, but you need some sort of baseline to start from. And again, notice I said excessive...it could be that with all the new stuff you have added your just feeling it a bit more @ it’s completely normal.
start with the power train alignment procedure with inclinometer...that way you know your power train is aligned...then look for things touching the frame, then make sure your wheels are properly balanced, and then have someone who knows dyna’s ride it..
