Changing pulleys
Hello everyone, I had belt start cracking so I am in the process of replacing it. While doing it, I thought I might change the front pulley while I am at it. I have an 02' WG TC 88. I believe my rear pulley is a 70t and my front is 34t? Not quite sure. My belt is 1-1/8 and 133 tooth I believe. My concern is that I do a fair amount of highway miles and do not want to stick to having to run 65 mph all the time if I make the change. I also do not know if I will need a smaller belt and/or more/less teeth on my belt. The bike has 50k miles and can't decide if I should replace any of the pulleys. I have not inspected the pulleys yet.
Any help would be great.

2002 dynas had 32T front and 70T rear with a 1 1/8" 133 tooth belt. With a 5 speed transmission I would not go down to the 30T front as you would lose some top speed and be reving pretty high on the highway, but you can with the stock belt.
According to a calculator online (http://woodsware.aciwebs.com/gears/), going from 32t to 30t would increase my rpm from 3100 to 3300 cruising at 75 mph and 3700 to 3900 at 95 mph. I usually stay between 75-80 mph with occasionally cruising at 85. Is cruising at ~3500 okay for these TC? Ive always heard they don't mind rpms. Also, I would rather have more torque, don't care about going 115+.

On my 2015 FXDL I changed from 32/66 to 30/68. I'm about 3700 at 75 and 4000 at 85-90. I run for hours at a time at these RPMs. Engine doesn't seem to mind. I actually still get about the same gas mileage. I would consider one of the best mods I've done.
I have a 99 Super Glide that came with the same final drive gearing, 32-70. I went with an Andrews 34 tooth on the front sprocket and was able to use the stock belt. Makes running at 75 or 80 very relaxed, drops rpm by 6%. My engine is a 97 inch S&S so I have power to pull the gears.
