Default 2006 Dyna fxdi
I need some help. Just got my 2006 Dyna back from HD repair with the same problem. My issue is after the engine get heated up I get hesitation or miss, loss of power, backfire. This does not occure all the time. This usually occurs when going up hill. The engine is not straining. I suspected the MAP, Head temp sensor and crank sensor or coil. I did not want to easter egg it so I took it to the dealer. That did not work. They showed me the sensor and it did have a crack in it, but not it. Any help?

You found a dealer that would touch a bike that's > 10 years old?

Sounds like ECM or plug wires, or the plugs themselves.

If you have SE plugs, GET RID OF 'EM!

NGK makes decent plugs...

Default Spark plug gap.
Check the spark plug gap. Should be between .038 and .043.

Have you checked fuel pressure? I had a similar problem with my 08 turned out to be a fuel pump slowly going bad. Otherwise do check to see if its plugs and use the new iridium from NGK.

Coil, wires, plugs.... Not in that order tho..
Changing my coil hopefully tomorrow, so I'll let you know about hesitation,but I'm also changing plugs too...

No sir.... I'm a carb bike...

BUT... I changed the coil tonight and plugs..... And there's about a 15 to 20 hp difference in the butt dyno... It pulls nice now!

Fuel pressure good. replaced fuel reg and filter. same issue.
