Simple green is a great product! Get some. It works great to remove oil from bikes. It is very mild as well.

Do you use that simple green full strength, or dillute it with water first?

Cheers... Ben.

I use it straight from the spray bottle. You can dilute it if you have a big job.

I guess I'm crazy but I simply douse (not saturate) an old hand cloth with gas and wipe the oil off the mount and black part of the case.It also works well to wipe up the few drips that get on the garage floor. I ride the bike until it is around or at normal operating tempature and then let it sit for about an hour. I then let it drain (straight up on my jack) for 10 - 15 minutes. Even doing this, I'm only able to put about 2.6-7 quarts back in to get it to register at the proper mark on the dip stick. The service maual says this is normal for a "wet" bike. However, at my last oil change at the dealership they put in 3 full quarts. My bike always registered slightly overful at both the hot and cold settings but they told me not to worry about it. If I were them I would just keep the extra at each oil change they do and every 5 - 6 changes they would pick up a full quart of oil and at $9+ retail, that would add up over time.

Man, don't use gas. There are so many other cleaners and solvents to choose. Just suggesting.

brake cleaner does work great but it is detrimental to rubber and plasic etc. After reading the brake cleaner can decided not to use it for that in that area. your rubber mnt is right there also the clutch cable
