Ok, so a colleague of mine just asked me if I use "fogging oil" for when I store my bike for the winter. Ive been working on cars and bikes for over 25 years and Ive honestly never heard of this stuff. I put Sta-bil in my bike and call it a day.

Has anyone ever used fogging oil?
Ibuse it and its made by Sta-bil. You pull the plugs and spray the tops of the piston and remove the air cleaner and spray into the throttle body.
On marine twin crusaders, sure. On the bikes, only once. Made spring startup more work than needed. Plugs were fouled and engine was hard to start,
Lat 30 years never did it again, stabil in the fuel, change oil, cover for the winter. If it get real cold out run the tender for a couple hours a week.
People have been storing their motorcycles in the off season since dinosaurs roamed the earth, without fogging the cylinders, and suffering no ill effects.
Moisture can enter a couple way. (Via humidity.)
One is traveling back up the nice open exhaust most owners prefer.) All you need is the engine to stop with an exhaust valve partially open.
Next way to get water in the engine is via the crankcase vent. Vapor can be drawn in as the engine cools. It's usually a minute amount, but it can "breathe" day after day and accumulate in the lower end. If you get "milky" engine oil, it's got water in suspension.
Depends on your storage location. In a tempered or even moderately tempered environment, probably not worth the effort. In a shed, no heat or insulation, up North, might be a reasonable five minutes of my time just to be safe. Good luck.
