I see a few Streetbobs with spring cushioned solo seats. Thought about doing this myself. It looks bad-a$$ed but how comfortable is it and what's thefartherest you rode with it?
I would say its comfortable but not as comfortable as the stock seat. I just took a 3 hour ride this weekend on mine and my *** did hurt some. The thing to do is make sure you can easily take the spring seat off for long rides and put it back on for the shorter rides. Mine comes on and off in minutes.
Thanks for the compliment. You can check out how I made my bracket for my seat to attach to my bike in the pics in my gallery. I just remove the two stock bolts and the bracket is off the bike. Put the bolts back in and then put on the stock seat or whatever seat you have.

Thanks for the reply. That's a good idea, settin' it up for a quick change. That's a good lookin' ride, dude.
I agree. I love the stock seat. I just think the setup that rocklayer has is sweet. I kinda prefer the scissor springs to the coils though. I may make a quick change setup like he has but I may mount the whole thing on a piece of diamond plate (painted black) and attach that with a couple counter-sunk allen screws.
That would be cool. I thought about using diamond plate too but only could find it in aluminum and my welder is not able to weld aluminum only steel. Diamond plate looks way cooler than plain steel.

If I used aluminum, I would make some mounting bosses out of bar or round stock and attach them from the underside with screws or bolts. you know how it is, sometimes you need theparts in front of you and then a solution presents itself.
