What’s up everybody, just wondering what oil you’re running in your cvo’s and big bores or other builds? I’ve always run syn 3, but the valvetrain is so loud when it heats up so I’ve been thinking of switching to non synthetic. I know the valvetrain is loud normally but I’m hoping to quiet it down just a bit. Yes, I already installed rocker lockers.
Bike is a 17 lrs (117ci, se259, 58mm, fat cat 2-1, & dyno tune w/power vision)
So what oil are you all running and do you notice a difference? Thanks in advance for any suggestions/input.
I have cams and head work with my 103. I have run redline 20/60 - spectro 20/60 - valvoline vr1 strait 50 and vr1 20/50. I found that valvolne vr1 20/50 works best for me.i found when running synthetic oils valvetrain noise is definitely louder. I have read a lot of reviews on the vr1 20/50 and they are all positive for air cooled motors.
