Often a good strategy. I have an older sports car that many people assume is super fast, but really isn't (especially off the line... It is a fast highway cruiser). Whenever someone next to me at a light seems "racy," I make a point of pulling away really slowly to make sure the other driver can't possibly think we're racing.

Gotta love those "dark years" cars, Tarik.
My sister has an '85 Corvette that is slower in every respect that her 300C and slower in most respects than her F150. Ha!
She bitches and moans about it all the time...how it's so embarrassing and has no resale and whatnot. I keep telling her that's just how cars were back then. All of them, with one or two exceptions. Easy enough to remedy in most cases (probably not yours!).

And of course the family oriented 4dr version of the Yugo....the Wego 
I knew a guy had a Vette, can't remember the year but it had a little medallion by the shifter proudly declaring it had like either 165 or 185hp. Chevy had some ***** putting that on there
