99/down 9 spokes on 2003 lowrider
You're not the only person reading this thread
Also, it possibly could be relavant to this thread ... I haven't seen a pic of his 9-spokes. I hope not, but he wouldn't be the first guy who had stars in his eyes about the new "Mags" he just got, only to find out ... Uh oh, Not Good ... do think that it would be relavant then? Maybe we just headed off the potential problem early? It's possible
That leads me to this ... I was looking at an old 9 this weekend and discovered something potentially interesting... akprigge, can you post a pic of both your wheels and specifically the rear showing the "writing" (for lack of better word right now
).
this what youre after? these are both on the rear wheel
Here's what I was talking about
Do you have any measuring calipers? ... Measure the Front Left spacer (part# 43617-95). I see published specs of .930 or .940 ... What do you get?
Ok, above I said using the differing measurements of hubs, you would need approx .170" caliper spacers ... so I did a Quick Mock-up
Pics
1. Your 2003 Parts, except I used a 08-later Caliper because it has a "Slot" for the Rotor and easier to see the Centering.
2&3. Shows the Rotor to Caliper Alignment ... looks good

4. Took a Reference Measurement of Rotor positioning
5. Made a .930" spacer (didn't have one) and installed the Narrower 9-Spoke and got another Reference Measurement.
**The difference was .157" so the .170 would have worked fine ... Now if you measure that Left spacer and find it to be .940" instead, then the difference would be .167" (even closer to the calced .170)
You can do the same thing on your end

Unfortunately, now you gotta continue with your upgrade. That means polished rotors and sprocket...
It never ends, does it?
