I put a pair of legend air shocks on the back of my 11 FXDC. I put their cartridges in the front forks.
Rides like a two wheeled Cadillac. Simply spectacular if you want a nice floating ride. The front is a wee bit stiff but at Sturgis last year I dropped by the factory and they said ride em a couple thousand miles and they'd soften up a little. You can adjust the rears on the fly, pump em up for a passenger or let it be soft if you are on the freeway. They are pricey but I don't know of anything else similar.

i got lucky. dealer had ordered progressives 412 for a customer, then they never picked them up.
bought them for $200, rear. 2011 Dyna FXDF. Night and day difference, but got to do the front's now. It will help with the little shake you get under heavy cornering or lean.

My 05 L/R has 12" stock rear shocks, my 02 Super Glide is at 12.5", I think if you go to a 13" shock on the bike it would ride like you want it too. Plus you could put some bags on it with worrying how close to the wire under the rear fender your rear tire is. The springs are wound a bit different on the longer shocks, the internals are different too.
