What brand forward controls do you people recommend?
What are Custom Chrome bits like for quality, or are genuine HD the way to go.
Dont have a lot of choices out here, unless I get from USA.
Dyna FXDC 2007.
I wnet with the Harley forwards. Was very pleased with the look after removing the shifter shaft and installing the supplied cap. They cost more than some other brands, but I liked what I got for my money. I wish I was more familiar with some of the other brands so I could offer a comparison instead of just an opinion on what I purchased.
I've seen boththe OEM forwards and Kuryakyn. They seem very similar, almost like they are modeled after one another. I don't think you can go wrong with either of those.
I just ordered some OEM forwards as they were slightly less expensive than Kuryakyn and I didn't see a difference.
I like to use original parts where I can, but I can get other brands out of the US , including postage, a lot cheaper than i can get genuine
from the dealer.
The dollar at the moment makes it even better.
I certainly like the look of the Kuryakin ones, the Custom Chrome just look a bit weak.
Got original H-D bracket on the forward controls. Went with the Kurkakyn switch blades pegs cause there is more flat area to put yer feet on.
And after you ride a couple of hunderd miles you can flip the sturips down to give yer legs a little break. Got the kuryakyn wider rear pegs for the old lady too..
i went with Custom Chrome forwards got them new on ebay for 245 from als cycle shop. jp and dennis kirk has them listed for 475. i got a pretty good deal. these forwards look heavy duty than theOEM forwards.
I just looked at the Kuryakyn forwards at their stand at Carlislie Bike Fest about 2 hours ago and they are top quality and I can order them from www.discountcycleparts.comfor $306.76 plus shipping and they come in a 2" extended version for you taller folks.
