I know this is frowned upon by most but money doesnt allow for a slip on right now.
Has anyone drilled out a stock muffler? I have a 2016 low rider with the stock 2 into 1 pipes. Took off the muffler today to access both sides and picked up a 3/4 stepped bit and a 12 extension. Wondering what yall have done that worked well.
If you don't have money for a slip-ons, how are you going to be able to richen up the fuel system once your bike starts running lean and running like crap?

I was under the impression that as long as you dont delete the cat the AF ratio doesnt change enough to need fuel management.

Actually, the general wisdom is that you only need a tune if you open the exhaust AND air cleaner. But, if you drill out the muffler and it sounds like crap..what ya gonna do?
The touring slip ons baffle insert can be removed. You might want to google yours and see what is there.
I punched out the baffles in my road glide and It didn’t really change the sound much, so I cut the baffles out completely. Then it sounded obnoxious (to me) and had no bottom end power, so I ordered DK customs thunder torque inserts and now it makes good power everywhere and I’m so happy with the sound now that, I’m not sure if I’m gonna bother doing performance pipes unless I decide to big bore someday. For around $45 I’m happy with my exhaust!
