Default Body control module question

I have a 2012 Fat Bob I do not have a security fob but the red security light keeps coming on in the speedometer display. I did the code checks with the trip switch and I get BCM issue and the part no. The part number is the body control module. I know the body control module controls various items to include the security system. Question: if I buy a body control module for this bike and year. Can I just plug it in and that’s it? Seems too simple to do. Also I assume the body control module is located on the left side of the bike behind the decorative cover on the left side? The body control module pictures look like it just plugs in. your all experienced thoughts?? Thanks
