Default Adjusting Handlebars

I got a new seat with a back rest which puts me an inch or two closer to my bars. Now my wrists are bent and a little lower in relation to my shoulder than I'm used to. As a result, my wrists are very sore - almost like they're sprained.

I'm thinking if I roll the bars up and away (toward the front of the bike) it will improve my grip. It looks fairly easy. Just the four bolts on the triple tree, right? I realize I'll also have to adjust the controls but those look fairly straight forward, also.

Is it really that easy? What else am I missing? Is there a torque spec for the bolts?

I'm pretty new to riding and wrenching my own bike so any advice is appreciated.

Bike is in my signature - '13 Dyna Switchback

Thanks!

There is a torque spec for nearly everything on the bike. Get a Hayden manual, it will save you a lot of time and money. If you are new to wrenching it will save you a lot of grief. Some bolts you can just tighten until it feels right. Others you will strip a thread. Others you will actually stretch the bolt and weaken it. Not all, but just enough to cause you trouble. The Hayden manual says 12 to 16 ft pounds on the handlebar clamp bolts. Get em snug, go in a cross pattern, upper right to lower left to upper left to lower right at 10 pounds, then do the same thing at 16 pounds. What you will find is the correct torque spec gets that perfect "crack" the next time you remove them.

And plus one on the locktite. I locktite every nut and bolt I put back on my bike. The way they shake its a miracle to me that parts are not falling off all day.
