It's a whole lot more work but looks so much better and cleaner with the wiring thru the bars...top tip,tie a small nut to the end of a piece of strong fishing line or string, drop it inside the bars then twist and turn the bars around to let gravity "pull" the line thru, attatch that to your wiring and pull it all thru..Job done!

Pitdog, yes, I'd be interested in the buy, quanto? Thanks also to everyone else. Looks like I'm gonna need the new brake lines, cable etc. unless I can get risers. Blkdimon8, which risers? Do you have a link, if speedo stands straight up does it look like sh*t?

Pitdog, got your email, I just put 4" straight risers on along with Jackyls 2" tank lift and like the look, I'll post some pictures soon. Thanks for the offer though.

I put Bob bars on my 2007 FXDC, and didnt change any cables, or hoses. Had to bend the brake hose a bit, and reposition
the clamp down the pipe.
Also put the fat soft grips on at the same time.

I put 4" straightrisers on this weekend, and with the 2" tank lift I think it looks good. Pull-back risers did a very weird thing with the speedometer! So, I went with the straight. I also had to straighten the brake fluid line, just took the little clamp off.I don't think I'll change the bars but thanks to all who offered. Once I can get some pics to download I'll get them out here, I get "file to large " messages (?).
If anybody could give me advice on how to put on new grips I'd appreciate it! Thanks again!.

I did my 07 Superglide a few weeks after I got it. You can go on ebay and look for a set of Bars and Cables. I got 10' chubby apes with cables for just over $300. The bars and cable fit perfect and are not a set of cheap peice of *****. I will post the name of the seller when I get home. The best way is tank off. Makes it easier to run the cables and allows access to the wiring in the frame. If you are running internal wiring cut the wires 2 inches above the connecters in the frame. Make sure that you match the wires, sotter them, and heat shrink them individualy andall together. The only cable that can be a bitch if you never worked on a bike is the clutch cable.
