Does anyone know the placement/purpose of the wave washer (34641-01) on a 2003 Dyna with mid controls? The service manual leaves a little bit to the imagination. My bike is a 2003 FXDWG that I am putting mids on. I think it goes between the inner primary and shifter lever (Maybe between the shifter sleeve and shift lever) to prevent it from rattling but want to confirm. I have done a lot of research but haven't found anything definitive. Found a lot of good threads on forward to mid conversions but nothing that addresses that. (Thanks HD pilot it was a great read but my bike is older). I attached a screenshot so you can see the placement of item no. 33. Thanks guys
Should go between the shift lever/shaft (#32) and the inner primary, slide it on the shaft before you put it into the inner primary. It takes some of the play out of the linkage by keeping the lever pulled towards the engine.
They provide tension on the peg so it doesn't rattle, yet allow it to fold up and down.

It probably keeps it from rubbing against the inner primary too. Here's what it looks like. I've got everything together just waiting until Aug when work slows down.
