Default Need help with sloppy mid control shifter lever

I have an 07 fxdb and I have mid controls. The shifter lever is sloppy and wobbles and also slides back and forth. It looks like I am supposed to maybe have a sleeve that goes over the lever and a seal at each end? I do have service manual 99481-07 for my bike but it doesn't seem to have any info on the mid control shifter linkage. Also does anyone know the part numbers I need?

Check the shift arm pinch bolts on the outer and inner arms. Over time they can become loose, causing your issues. If they stay loose too long the splines will get chewed up and you'll have to replace the shift lever assembly and the lever. This would require removing the inner primary

I found this http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....IFTER-ASSEMBLY

I guess I'm missing the spacer? Looks like there should be something else, but if this parts diagram is right, thats it.

There should be a rubberish spacer between the shift lever and the outer cover

Could not see what you were refering to on that link. There is a rubber spacer that goes on just inside your shifter that may have worn out and fallen off. Here is a pic from a 2012 HD SM, not sure what the correct part number is for your bike, but I am refering to the part with the #4:
