Default Front fork oil

Cleaned my bike yesterday and then took a ride to let it dry. When I came back home I noticed that my right leg had oil on it. It came from the front fork. I Guess I need to rebuild it. Are there any benefits by using a thicker oil like this Heavy 30Wt Suspension Fluid from Red Line?

That’s pretty heavy oil , I run Progressive suspension standard duty springs in the front of mine with Maxima 15 weight oil I’m very pleased with the ride now

I use HD Screaming Eagle oil in all three of my Harleys. Being mostly a flatlander I think it works fine.

The benefit from thicker oil is it slows everything down a bit...think of drag on the springs and dampening rod...I run 20wt in my bob with race techs setup....

I'd grab 3 pints of the HD fork oil 15wt and then you need to find measurement to top for your specific bike. Since you have a leak, that is what you'll need to know. When I changed just the oil, I just drained the old oil into a measuring cup and replaced exactly that amount back into the forks.

Service manual will tell you the exact amount to measure from top of fork. It is measured when shock is compressed (on the ground, not lifted). If you don't have a manual yet, ask your dealer. They should know. It is bike specific I believe. My WG was different than other Dynas.

So two bottles that contains 473 ml each is not enough?

2 should be fine. My ultra takes 10.7 oz . Used some to flush the fork and refilled with correct amt.

Looks like you'll need a couple more bottles ... 784 ml per side (from 2013 Dyna Service Manual below ... you do have a 2013 FXDF?)
