I put one on when I lowered my bike and needed the shorter stand. Got so used to it that even after raising back up with the stock stand I'd probably be fumbling for it without the extension.

If you place the inside of your foot on the back of the primary your heel falls right on it and just follow through. No big deal and this is from a guy with a few different bikes with totally different stands....
Yup...best description I heard was scrape the back of the primary with your heel and you'll find it...problem is I've had the dyna the longest and I try to do it on my SGS....hard habit I guess....
Those "jiffy-stand" extenders trip more people walking around the left side of the bike. Watch that extension reach out and grab your ankle as you walk past. It's amazing to watch actually.
EDIT~ First mod I do with every new Dyna I get? Shift linkage. Wait until you shear one of those little tips off, then you'll understand. Next mod I do is get that crap lubricant outta those 3 holes...
