O.K. my saddlebags come in. They look nice. don't have a piece of hard plastic on back for backing, don't have any leather laces to tie the bags to the shocks. They are under ACe leather in JP Cycles and under ACe in Drag Specialities. But Ace said they are not their bags. Got to figure out something.
Well to make a short story LONG !
The bags come in today. I looked all over them for some ties. Wasn't any to be found, Kept looking at how I was gonna tie em to my shocks. Had 2 circle holders on the front look like they was for water bottles. I stuck my water bottle in one and it fell threw. While I was heading home I had the saddlebags on the passenger seat and I was thinking as I was lookin at the bags. Don't tell me them made buttons and made the circles to go around the shocks to hold em. Well I pulled the bags over and looked and yep there was buttons. The circles hold the bags to the shocks so they don't move.
The Bags had brads holding the leather that goes over the seat together. I drilled them out and drilled some holes in the leather and put some leather laces threw the holes and tied them together and put some felt on the leather that goes over the fender.
Gonna take some pictures tomorrow if it don't rain again and I will post them and I want yer honest answers on how they look on my Fxwg. Thanks !
If you look at the address for the bags. http://www.dragspecialties.com/fatbook/19/9/3874651
I think the bags dont look good without the supports. All the pics I've seen, the bags are all crooked and it just don't look good. When your lacing the bags, you can offset the holes and straigten the bags out.
So How do you know mine don't have any support cause I said they don't. or you just like bags that are hard and stick out off the struts? Those are the kinds I don't like. Bolt on bags. they git in the way.
O.K. you win. I will take em off and throw em away.
Anyway yer the 1st person that don't like em.
Sorry it took me a long time to respond to your question, I had some crap go down in my personal life and was distracted. Anyways, the Willie and max standard slant bags fit like a glove between the spring and the stock turn signals! They are just tight enough to lodge them between the turn signal and spring that you donât even have to tie then down!! They are just the right size they are 1â from the pipes on the right and no problems with interfering with anything on the left! The have and inner solid core that gives them stability and firmness with no strange noises at high speeds! Donât even know they are there until I need to use them! Best bags I could ever ask for and the customer service and price were exceptional!!! Can you tell Iâm happy with them? Here is the link again to the standard slants that fit the Dyna so well!!!!
These are throwover bags, just sinch them up using 2 holes and place them under the seat and all is good!
anyone thinks its possible for me to run some throw overs? i have an aftermarket rear fender and a sidemount plate and tailight and no belt guards. is there a way i can get some that i can jus toss on and tie to the strut towers ? here some pics of what im workin with.... i jus ordered a motherwell rack and was gonna get a bag to sit on it but im havin second thoughts about drillin a whole in my fender to mount the rack...
I ordered Krome Works brackets for my bike, they were back ordered.
Got a special pair of brackets coming in, but turns out the way my bags are made I don't need them. Got some felt from Walley World and put it on bottom of my bags. Some othher dudes agreed with me, man the way yer saddle bags ride you don't need bracket. I will have 2 pair of brackets when they come in. Probally willl not use them. My bags can't git into the wheels. http://s171.photobucket.com/albums/u...t=P8020493.jpg
