I'm considering going to Wide Glide front end on my Low Rider, and while looking I got a line on a Softail one. Anyone know if replacing complete front end of stock 2003 Low Rider with one from same year Softail is a bolt on affair, and would a Wide Glide one be also? Different frame on the Softail, but is the neck diameter/length/ect the same or not?
Or, can I just get Wide Glide triple trees, and use my Low Rider forks/tubes/ect.? Thx all.

You'll have to trim about 1/4" off the "wings" of the lower triple tree to clear the frame/neck. Otherwise bolt-on. They use the same casting for the FXDWG & FXSTC trees, so it has the Dyna fork stops cast into it & your neck lock will function as well. Factory just trims the FXDWG destined trees before chroming.
Don't know what you plan to use for a wheel. If a standard "wide glide" width, yer good to go, otherwise you'll need to have wheel spacers machined.
HD likes to hide/stuff a lot of wiring under that headlight brow, so you may want to trim some the neck-area wiring to clean up the look. On my '02 FXD, there was so much excess wire, it couldn't all be stuffed back into the frame.
Lower tree after 5 minutes with an angle grinder & a Dremel.
I went with FLSTC fork legs, simply 'cos I was going for the FL vibe.

Nice! Lots of good info I didn't know. Very much appreciated. The front fender will also will need to be from a wide glide front end, or maybe big spacers for the Lowrider fender.
