Default Wiring front headlamp

Just got my new 9' chrome front billet headlamp, ( streetbob) , the lamp has about 8" of wire hanging out red and yellow, anyone know how hard this is to do ? the existing wire seems to go into the frame with a large rubber gasket, does gasket come off easily? i would think the wiring would be continuus right to the lamp, maybe i have to splice it and poke it back into frame ? Help ! Like i said before...... i'm good at kitchen cabinets, nowhere near a bike mechanic, thanks

The plug is right at the neck look under the front of the tank you'll see a black plastic cover... Unbolt the tank and lift the front of the tank up, and stuff a clean rag in the tunnel to hold it up..remove the black sheild and all the wireing is right there.Pull the harness out and you'll find all the plugs .Follow the headlight wire in the side gromet and there will be a plug. no need to remove the side gromet...
The hose you see in the picture is the tank crossover ...

There is a plastic cover on the underside of the top frame tube. This unlatchesso you can then get at the harness and connectors. Trace the headlamp wiring to here and pull the plug from the socket, then unthread it and pull it out of the frame. (In the manual it will probably say disconnect the battery before you start etc).

You can use the existing headlamp wiring for your new onebut you will need to unlatch the pins from the plug body so you can pull the wire out of the shell. Just wright down the colour code before you do this.

It's nowhere near as hard as it sounds. Good luck.

Edit: You beat me to itTrotter
