i know i have asked this before . but , i need a round air cleaner with chrome face... going to do this then get the download.... sorry for asking this again. but need advice and where to buy ? thanks for advice . tired of my football to be honest . plus taked to the head wrench today at the hd shop.. and he is really good . not just my opinion on that one... anyways. he says to be honest you really need the download even if not changing the air cleaner,in other words i really should get the download even for the SE'II pipes i have...not to open a can of worms on that one.
if you look behind that "football cover" the stock air cleaner is arounded box. sorry but unless you go SE1 airbox. that football cover stays. my 2 cents
You need the SE Stage 1 intake kit (good idea in any case to improve breathing since you're adding pipes that flow better) and I'd recommend going with the K&N filter (exact replacement fit) - dealer likely has them in stock as this is a VERY common upgrade. SE filters used to be made by K&N I believe but now they are paper and not reusable. They also have chrome or wrinkle black backing plates if you're not into the cast silver grey look behind the chrome air cleaner. YEP, each improvement creates a domino effect requiring you to open that wallet wider and wider!!
29773-02C is the kit... Best to just buy the parts. PM me your Address and I'll send ya the backing plate.. You'll just need the breather tubes, 3 spacer bolts, 2- O rings and a filter of your choice, and a gasket. I have plenty of the backing plates...
