Replacement shock question
So I think I'm on a slippery slope with this bike. I recently ordered a Bung King crash bar and upper shock slider which is due in next week. So now I'm thinking, since I have remove the shock's to install the sliders, I may as well upgrade the shocks.
Should I go longer than stock and what are the ramifications? Do you need to re-tention belt if they are an inch or so longer? Any other issues?
Bike is 2009 Super Glide Custom.

For starters I would say you should always check the belt tension and alignment after any rear dissambly because checking it is easy. Secondly the question to ask yourself is what is your riding style and are taller shocks conducive to it. Taller shocks change the geometry of the bike and will likely increase the sensitivity of steering and exaggerate the center of gravity in cornering. Many people like the more "nimble" feeling of doing this. The other benefit is ground clearance if you are ever on rough roads. To conclude my opinion I went stock length when I bought my fox shocks but I wish I would have gotten longer thank stock length.
