Final Report on Three "ride quality" mods
i won't go into all the details on how or why, I'll just tell you what I did as and FYI for those considering changes
I did these three things over the past couple months, with at least 500 miles between them.
Race Tech Gold Cartridge Emulators and 195Kg straight rate springs-
Made a huge difference and improvement to the front end.
True Track stabilizer -
Made an improvement to the whole gyrate wiggle thing when in imperfect turns (the road being imperfect that is). I don't know if it was worth the $$$, but it was noticeable. I hear they are having issues with supply and quality control.
Metzler ME880's, with a 90/90 21 up front -
The mother of all road handling improvements, I feel like I am sucked into the road with these things. Rain grooves and other similar imperfections in the highway are not even noticeable. The bike leans with much less pressure on the bars. And, it appears my mileage may have improved... I'll not know for sure until I get a few tanks spent.
All in all, these three things have given me a great ride. I can finally say "my bike feels like its on rails" and really mean it.
I'd love to get rid of the slight wet-noodle feeling on my FXDWG front end.

This mod does require drilling holes in your internal damper tubes, but its easy. it have me a good excuse to buy a small drill press (drilling round tubes with a hand drill is not my strength)
I am also using Amsoil fork oil in the front end, which made an improvement when I was dealing with the mod I did between stock front end and the Race Tech products (tried Progressive fork springs and hated them)
I don't have the link handy for the True Track, but I wouldn't suggest buying one anyway, as I said, they are having issues. I guess the owner died.

Hmmm - I'll research the quality issues a bit more - thanks!

also make sure you get the
160/70VB17 Metzeler ME880 R RF TL (same as fitted to that really ugly BMW "custom" thing)
for the rear of your street bob (2005/2006 models) as it has a reinforced sidewalls and rim.. really helps with that crunch you sometimes get from the rear end.
