When posting a problem with your bike, always indicate the year and model of your bike. They are not all the same.
Do yourself a favor... instead of using your user name as the title of the thread, use a brief synopsis of the thread content. In this case, something like "Transmission fluid in cable". You will get more people to click on your thread and help you if they know what the thread is about.
Now, to your problem. The first thing I would do is check to see if your transmission vent hose is blocked by dirt or debris. Check it and clean/unplug it. Post back if it does or doesn't fix your problem. If not we can make other suggestions.

Thanks for your advice. Can I edit the thread title now that we've already started?
Mine is a 2005 FXDLI. I don't see a vent hose, but maybe that's why the owner's manual says to only finger tighten the filler plug/dipstick?
The clutch cable is going to have some oil in it , all good . It stays lubricated on the lower end because the oil will make its way into the cable, an occasional application of lube on the upper end will help to make it last longer. Also , the lower end of the cable is crimped and sealed at the time of manufacture , any abuse or rough handling of the cable where it enters the transmission , can create a leak there.
There is no sign of physical damage on the transmission end, But possibly a rock or some other debris may have caused damage that's masked by the woven sheath,

You can't edit the thread title. Only a moderator can.
On a 2005 Low Rider, the vent hose should be behind the dipstick on the top and back of the transmission. Now, I do agree with Gearhead88 that some tranny fluid may fill the lower end of the cable but, in my opinion, there shouldn't be so much fluid it fills the adjuster boot.
