Hi all,
Long time rider (58 years) new to HD. Just bought a 2011 Wide Glide and my first question is about the passenger peg set up. The Mrs. is a little cramped in leg room and I need to move the passenger pegs forward. I have found adjustable pegs from Harley so that is not a problem although if anybody has other suggestions they would be appreciated but the mounting has me curious. The brackets that bolt to the swingarm are angled back and it doesn't look right to me. I'll try to post pics so you can see what I'm talking about.
Since they sweep back, it cramps the passenger worse. I need help since the comment I got yesterday after our ride was "I was much more comfortable on the Beemer.
Thanks!

Lol. Well I doubt shell ever be as comfortable as she was on the beemer. Those things are smooth as glass.... I digress.
I have a rear crash guard that sits considerably lower than the stock passenger pegs. That might help. Also, raising the rear suspension would give her more leg room.
Thanks guys, I looked at the mounts on the swingarm and it doesn't appear that there is any adjustment. I agree that they shouldn't sweep back but should come out perpendicular to the bike but they have raised bosses that contact the swingarm and it does not appear that the angle can be changed. The one on the left also mounts the belt guard so it can't be changed much if at all. Also because of the way they are mounted, it may be necessary to remove the rear tire and fender in order to loosen the foot peg brackets. Might have to just get a thicker seat and see if that helps?
Brownie, how do you raise the rear suspension? Do you mean put more preload on the shocks?
