There are 2 mounting bolts and a raised boss (on the underside) that contacts the swing arm. It seems the design is not quite right because they actually sweep back a bit too much so the pegs end up towards the rear putting them much more than they need to be. I sat on the pillon pad and at 6 ft I wouldn't last long back there. I ordered some 4 inch extensions and it should make it much more comfortable.
Another option could be an Air Hawk pad. It sits the passenger up a couple inches, plus you can adjust the air pressure to make her rear end happier too.

Can you take another picture from the side so we can see how they are mounted? They should be more perpendicular to the bike.

Here are some pics of the mounting. It almost appears that they were made with about 15-20 degrees too much angle but I can't see how you would change it much if at all, especially on the belt side because it also mounts the belt guard.
My low rider passenger pegs are the same way. angled back. My wife isn't a fan but says the extra height of the sundowner seat helps to a degree. I'm probably going to put some floor boards on there for her
If this 50 year old dude asked his wife to hop on the Dyna (I wouldnt), Id get a serious WTH look from her.
If youre serious about mama on rides and want a happy wife, get a bagger. Just honesty, no matter what pegs you throw on there, reality is the back of a Dyna sucks for anyone over 21 and 100 lbs....
Own both (my situation) or just a bagger. I can rip just fine on my Streetglide if I had to only own one to keep us both happy.

Since it's only for short hops/ day trips the Dyna works fine. If I started pushing a bagger I'm afraid I would end up dragging chrome. At least that was our experience when renting Fat Boys. We did our long distance touring on a Beemer but are past that stage of our lives now.

Ol'lady is long over 21 and over 100 lbs, and she's on a 01 dyna. It's how you set up your bike.
OP in the first pics they look bent? But also definitely invest in a backrest. Not a short one either at least a 20in.. She will be able to lean back and there will be some distance between you two.
And as everyone else has said get a comfortable seat for her! You? Eh' her yes!
