[:@][:@]Jane get me off this crazy thing. Well all I can say is that my streetbob was not even delivered, and I was already ripping through the catalog for bling....
Far as leaving it alone and I sense alot of frustration here. []

Do your homework... Before I started the madness of downloads, tuners, pipes etc. I first decided what I wanted based of function and performance, do you want pipes bad *** loudor sleeky, or [:-]whatever your interested in.Make that decision first.
I for one do not have a friend or anyone other than HD to work on my bike to save on the labor, which sucks. And Im a freakin idot, to even attempt.

What I do is when upgrading- I will go to several Harley Dealers, and ask lots, lots and lots ofquestions., tell them what you want to do, I find if you ask them the question in the sense of what should I do.......... your going to be lost.

ITs all about what do you want.... They will guide you and let you know what will not be compatible, best of all your work will not void the warranty as long as they do the work. even with after market pipes.

Get pipes compatable with the o2 sensors. Reinharts or Vance and Hines are probably the best for the 06-07 bobs
Get the Screamin eagle Race Tuner
Get the Screamin eagle Stage I air filter kit
Get it done by your dealer
Get your *** on the bike and ride into the sunset.
you wont be disapointed........

Enough bla, bla, bla,

You make a couple of good points, but I desagree with having the dealer do all of the work. If have the service manual and some small amount of mechanical ability, there are a lot of things that you mentioned that you can do yourself. I think that the amount of upgrades that you can afford will be greatly reduced if you have the dealer bolt everything on for you. I suggest trying to do the work yourself and getting to know your bike. I am not suggesting tackling an engine rebuild, but taking the bike to the dealer for everything is just ridiculous.

And by the way, as long as you follow the service manual chances are that you will not be voiding your warranty. I know that I do my own services, as do many other people here and warranty is not an issue if you can prove that you did the service (save receipts, etc).

Hey I buy Harley knowing that it's going to take 3k or so to make it mine...pipes, air cleaner, apes and a download I don't buy into the PCIII I'd rather keep funtioning O2 sensors..but thats just me...But I do all my own work and I'm comfortable doing so...If your not...Learn it's almost always cheaper to buy the tools you need and do the job than to pay someone else...plus you have the tools for next time...Pick up a shop manual when you pick up the bike and try never to walk in the dealer until you need you next bike

Its sounds like a great winter project for me, I will take it witha grain of salt, and pick up a manual. Its a learning process,,,, but like I said...Im an idiot when it comes to mechanical... and it would do me justice to not give all of my A$$ to the man. Cheers'

Hey Guys, The more I read the more I get confused on all these
upgrades like SERT's,POWER COMANDERS,RUSH,CYCLE
SHACKS,SCREAMING EAGLES II'S ect ect...
Has anyone out there researched and done all these mod's
soaking dollar after dollar and then realized That I should have just left her stock ?
Well I'am starting to feel that way because there is equal amounts of negitive and positive on all of it.
I would like to here from anybody out therethat just left her alone and are happy with it!
ENO
Well, up until today, I was sure that I was gong to be able to answer your question for you. "Stock all the way!", I said.
That lasted almost exactly five weeks.

Who wants to start a pool on when ENO is gonna add pipes, a/c, and a sert?

wt.

I wouldn't even start messing with pipes and air filter unless you either A. have 500-1000 to spend on a SERT or PC3 and however much dyno time it takes to get it right or B. enough money to purchase one of the above mentioned products and the patience to tune it through trial and error. If you just want to make more noise get a set of slip-ons and call it a day. If you want more power do your homework find a system you like ,a less restrictive air cleaner and a tuner.Try that on for size if you still want more there's cams, high flow heads, big bore kits, what the hell a supercharger, it's only money right?

[sm=icon_blah.gif] well on this forum.. its modifications all the way man! But if YOU are happy with it being stock then so be it... If not then save yer pennies cause yer gonna need 'em... If and when you decide that "bone stock" aint cuttin it.. be patient... do things a little at a time.. and if and when you decide that you want to do a stage 1... (and chances are you will... its a sickness we all have.. [sm=drlove.gif]you are basically infected when you sign the papers and start riding the F'n thing.. btw there isnt any known cure either.. or shots that you can take.. other than to your wallet ) ...KNOW that you will probably need like special ed said.. mo' money to the tune of 500 to a K..

just my $.02
