I'm considering building a nice engine for my bike since I love it and never want to get rid of it. It's a 2012 dyna Street bob with 96 twin cam
I already put some s&s 583 cams in it. I'm really happy with how thoses cams work but want to make more overall power.
Maybe adding a 110kit (jugs and piston only) to my present setup is a good choice? If possible I want to keep those cams.
Or maybe I have a better option to help me develop more power.
The S&S 583 has an 18° intake close, which makes the corrected compression ~9.1:1, very manageable ( and snappy low end). Those cams are well suited for a low compression (9.25:1) 96" engine.
If you add the 110 kit, and you wanted to keep those cams, just add a set of take off CVO 110 heads- that keeps your compression reasonable (9.5:1), and would feel like your bike was on steroids.
Allright, and if i break my bank account and buy the all 110 kit with s&s 585 cams, do you think my stock 96 injectors and throttle body will work?
And also regarding cylinder head, do you think that the stock spring will work correctly or it will be too weak? I know s&s says it's ok but what's your opinion?
Stock valve springs will be fine. Yes you can use your stock injectors and throttlebody but those are items you should upgrade to get he most from your build. You may run out of gas flow with stock injectors on top end
And i will be good to go? Without upgrading the throttle body. (i will do it later maybe)
I'm not looking for a monster build because it will be my every day bike and also because I will use stock crank.
Your nuts if you use those fuel injectors^ buy a set from a well known retailer. You get matched spray and don't have to worry about smoking you new build
Low budget upgrade to your current throttle body would be to have the runners matched to the heads and have it cleaned up inside too. You could bore your cylinders to a 107 and use the money you save there to go towards paying for a tuner/tune.

I already bought a dynojet powervision.
The problem with the 107 is that I might have to much compression right?
