So I thought I had things figured out. My stator, rotor, and compensator blew a few weeks ago, which I covered in a past thread. I was getting the check engine light to come on randomly but mostly only after hitting 90-100 mph. I figured that could’ve been being caused by the stator going out? But now I’m getting the same issue?
Just for reference it’s an 06 street bob. Yesterday I took it out after it was all put back together and did about 30 highway miles and it was perfect. Today went out and after about 150 miles the check engine light came on again? But only for a second and went off. It did that 3 more times on the ride home but once I got off the highway and my speeds were under 70mph it didn’t kick back on? Battery is charging at about 14.3v so that seems to be good. Not sure what could be causing my extremely intermittent check engine light issue?
If any one has any ideas I’d love to hear them. Or does anyone know if once a code is stored does it stay until it is removed? I do not have a tester for a motorcycle so I guess my best bet is to find somewhere that does and see if it pulls any codes? Is there any other way to find out? Just never saw a engine light that blinked on and off like that before?
