Default Front spring rate

About to buy upgraded front springs should I factor in my passengers weight in addition to my own weight when ordering the proper spring rate, or should I only factor in my own? I already have upgraded rear .

If you took into account the passenger's weight when you upgraded the shocks, it makes sense to do the same for the front.

The passenger's weight is largely carried by the rear suspension, so, I'm not sure how much compensation would be warranted in the front.

Fork spring rate is calculated on rider weight per individual bike model/weight application. If you ride 2-up a lot then you might possibly select the next spring rate up but not normally.

Don't over think it. The passenger weight is carried on the rear shocks, not the front. Just think of a cargo van or pickup truck. Gonna haul heavier loads? Put helper springs on the rear springs.

There has to be some consideration for the extra weight transfer to the front when under braking.

Actual spring rate you o with is not nearly as important as the pre-load

Buy some PVC and spend time fine tuning
