Default leaky rocker arm cover

Hi. Today, i notice a small amount of oil film around the top rocker arm cover, on front cylinder. Planned to remove cover and replace gasket, but heard that the six cover bolts should be checked to ensure theyre tightened to specs. Sounds easy but cant get to them because gas tank in the way. Is there an easy way to lift the gas tank up in the front without having to purge, disconnect wiring, and etc to get to those bolts with a torque wrench. Because if i need to remove the tank completely than i should just replace the gasket since im there. Bought the bike with 4800 at the end of sept and have 6900...should this be leaking or is there another issue going on. Any help is appreciated, first time owner 2014 dyna street bob. Thanks Roger

Remove the seat, then the rear tank mounting bolt. Lift the tank from the rear and prop it up.

I KNOW you don't want to hear this - but if it were me, I would do the job right, and just pull the tank and get it over with. You'll spill a WEE bit of gas, but it'll b worth the smell. Some folks even like it! Not my girlfriend though. Get yourself a gasket kit over at Dennis Kirk (best prices) and just get it done. The leak will be long gone for many many years to come and you'll be happy you did it.You'll also not have to think about... hmm are these bolts torqued correctly? Cuz they will be. I did this job with the help of a youtube video, and it was done in a bout 4-5 hours because I took my SWEET *** time. SO GLAD I did it. Learned a lot about how motorcycles work in the process.
